Alums Collaborate on “What Is Bae?”

MFA alum Lucas Hatton and BFA alumna Leah Daugherty are collaborating on “What Is Bae?” for Bike City Theatre Company. Billed as a sketch show and a play, the production begins performances on Feb. 7 at Sudwerk Brewing Co. in Davis.

“The Bluest Eye” Selected by Kennedy Center American Theatre Festival Regionals

The judging committee for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival has selected the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance production of “The Bluest Eye” for its regional competition in February 2019.

Doctoral Student Program Receives State Grant

The California Arts Council, a state agency, announced that it plans to award $2,500 to a collaborative effort between the City of Davis, DJUSD, and the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance as part of its Professional Development grants program.

Sign Up for Audition Slot

The UC Davis Theatre and Dance Department and the Theatre and Dance Ensemble are holding auditions for the 3rd Annual Ground and Field Theatre Festival on May 20 and 21, 6-10 p.m. in the Arena Theatre, Wright Hall. The auditions will be held in conjunction with those for the fall quarter production of “The Threepenny Opera.” Callbacks are scheduled for May 22.

“Outside the Lines, Spring Quarter,” presented by the College of Letters and Science’s Department of Theatre and Dance, features new choreography created by graduate and undergraduate students.  

Performances are Thursday through Saturday, May 23-25 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. performance on May 25 in the Wright Hall Main Theatre.

The Department of Theatre and Dance presents the world premiere of ”{LOVE/Logic},” a play by Andrew Nicholls, on May 16-18 and 23-25 at 7 p.m. and May 18 and 25 at 2.p.m. in the Wyatt Pavilion Theatre.  

Nicholls is the spring 2019 Granada Artist-in-Residence. The production is directed by alumna Josy Miller.
