A costume rental service operated by the UC Davis Costume Shop, The Enchanted Cellar provides year-round costume rentals. The shop offers more Halloween selections than ever before and special hours for costume viewing and fittings.
The California Arts Council, a state agency, announced that it plans to award $2,500 to a collaborative effort between the City of Davis, DJUSD, and the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance as part of its Professional Development grants program.
The Department of Theatre and Dance presents two MFA projects in one performance. “Giving Up/Giving It Up” is created and performed by Kevin Dockery and “The OTHER Show” is created and performed by Slater Penney. Dockery and Penny are graduate students.
Their works will be performed 9-12 at 7 p.m. in Wright Hall’s Arena Theatre. Admission is by donation, suggested $5.

Written and directed by Joseph Schupbach, the performance features choreography by Ayo Walker, performance studies alumna, and Lena Rose Polzonetti, graduate student. Costume design is by graduate student Tasa Gleason.
Submissions are now open for new works by student filmmakers for Film Fest @ UC Davis 2019. Celebrating its 19th year, the committee is seeking short films no longer than eight minutes in length (including credits) by April 12. Entries are open to all UC Davis students and recent graduates.
The festival will be held May 8 and 9 at the Varsity Theatre in downtown Davis. Doors open at 9 p.m. and screenings begin at 9:30 p.m.
