Special exhibition curated by alum highlights campus tea ware collection

A special exhibition of Japanese tea ware features both art objects and rare books from the UC Davis’s Global Tea Institute Collection of Art and Material Culture. This small exhibition – “Heaven and Earth in a Small Pot” – is on view in the Archives and Special Collections Reading Room of Shields Library throughout this winter quarter. Open hours are Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 3 PM, closed for lunch from 12 to 1 PM.. Open hours are Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 3 PM, closed for lunch from 12 to 1 PM.. The curators for this exhibition are Hunter Kiley (M.A., ‘23) and Jingwei Zeng, visiting intern in art history.

The Global Tea Institute Collection of Art and Material Culture was made possible by generous philanthropic donations and is meant to be a research and teaching collection, available for our campus use. “Heaven and Earth in a Small Pot” is the inaugural exhibition of the Global Tea Institute’s collection which will be held annually in Winter Quarters in conjunction with Global Tea Institute Colloquia.
