David Pagel is a curator, art critic, and Associate Professor at Claremont Graduate University. He writes regularly for the Los Angeles Times. His curatorial projects have included “Damaged Romanticism: A Mirror of Modern Emotion” with Terrie Sultan and “Electric Mud,” both for the Blaffer Gallery at the University of Houston, “L.A. Now” at the Las Vegas Art Museum, and  “Underground Pop” at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, NY, where he is an adjunct curator.

Pagel holds a Master’s in Art History from Harvard University and a B.A. in Modern Thought and Literature from Stanford University.
