Audition Sign Up Sheet

The Department of Theatre and Dance is holding auditions on May 13 for the 2024 fall quarter production of She Kills Monsters. Directed by alum Lucas Hatton (M.A. dramatic arts, ‘17), the comedic romp explores the world of fantasy role-playing games! 

Open to all UC Davis students, auditions will be 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Arena Theatre. 

Written by Qui Nguyen, She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. This high-octane dramatic comedy is laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture.

To audition, please prepare a monologue and a brief song (sung a cappella) and/or two contrasting monologues. Auditioners will have a seven-minute time slot. 

In addition, the auditions will also serve as a General Season Auditions for some regional companies including Capital Stage from Sacramento, Davis Repertory Theatre and independent producer alumna Janey Pintar (MFA, dramatic arts, ‘22).
